Rogue Job Change

Quest giver: Thug Morroc
Description

The Rogue job change is the second advancement path for a Thief. You first meet a gloomy Thug in Morocc who hints at the Rogue Guild, but the real work happens at the guild beneath Paros Lighthouse (map in_rogue). You need a Thief at job level 40+: first a written quiz from Markie, then an entrance fee and a long shopping list collected for the rude Mr. Smith, and finally a password and short training under one of the "Junior" mentors. Succeed and you become a Rogue and receive a Gladius dagger.

Walkthrough
  1. First go to Morocc and talk to Thug (morocc 100,104) — he grumbles about debts and mentions the Rogue Guild at Paros Lighthouse. This is just a story hook; no action is needed from him.
  2. Reach the Rogue Guild on map in_rogue: it is hidden beneath Paros Lighthouse on the Morroc/Comodo border. The easiest route is through the cmd_fild fields west of Morocc in the desert; inside the guild find Markie (Rogue Guildsman).
  3. Make sure you are a Thief at job level 40+ with all skill points spent — otherwise Markie won't let you in. He accepts your application and gives a written quiz of 10 questions about Rogue skills, monsters and maps.
  4. Answer correctly: you need more than 80 points (8 of 10) to pass. If you fail, come back and retake the quiz until you pass.
  5. After the quiz, go to Mr. Smith (in_rogue 376,23). He demands a 10,000 zeny entrance fee plus a batch of materials — the list varies by version (e.g. herbs, scales, shells, etc., 10 each), and in his "raging" version a big collection of monster drops.
  6. Bring Mr. Smith everything requested. He takes the zeny and items and hands you a recommendation letter — a Worn Out Page — as your pass onward.
  7. Smith sends you to one of the "Junior" mentors (Aragham, Antonio, Hollgrehenn or Hermanthorn Junior) in a house on a nearby field and dictates a password phrase about upgrade items. Memorize it exactly — you won't be let in without it.
  8. Reach the indicated house and, at the guard warp, assemble the password from its two parts (a name + a negative like "never"). A wrong choice throws you back, so pick the exact words.
  9. Talk to the Junior mentor, finish the short training, and return to Markie — he changes your job to Rogue and hands you a Gladius dagger (plain, or a slotted one if your job level is exactly 50).
