Description

Monster Tamer Iwado in Alberta helps you get a pet companion. This is less a linear quest and more a taming workshop: the NPC crafts rare Taming items (lures) in exchange for the right materials. The pet mechanic itself is simple: get the Taming item for a specific monster, keep Pet Food on you, and use the item directly on that monster. With a bit of luck, it becomes your companion.

Walkthrough
  1. Visit Monster Tamer Iwado inside Alberta (alberta_in 173,77). His menu explains how taming works and lists the lures he can craft.
  2. Decide which pet you want: each monster needs its own Taming item. Iwado crafts Monster Juice (for Hunter Fly), Singing Flower (for Rocker), and Wild Flower (an accessory for an Orc Warrior pet).
  3. Bring Iwado the materials for the lure you want. For example, Monster Juice needs Animal Gore and 2 Apples; Singing Flower needs a Singing Plant; the other Taming items are gathered in a similar way.
  4. Use the 'Please make one for me' menu to pick the item — the NPC takes the materials and hands you the finished lure.
  5. Buy some Pet Food from a Pet Groomer beforehand to match your future pet — without food it will starve and may run away.
  6. Find the target monster on the field, stand next to it, and use the Taming item on that monster. The taming chance is random, so stock up on a few lures.
  7. Once taming succeeds, open the pet window and feed it to keep hunger in check and raise intimacy — that determines whether it stays with you.
